Purpose of the development: The wheel pair is designed for installation for passenger and freight cars with gauge 1435/1520 mm.

Advantages over analogues: The use of a sliding wheelset allows you to avoid loading and unloading operations at the 1435/1520 mm gauge docking station, which speeds up the carrying capacity of the docking points and reduces the cost of delivery of goods to the final consumer.

The main problem arising from the operation of cars on railways with different widths of roads is the transition of wheelsets from one gauge to another. To do this, it is necessary to replace the wagon cart with the appropriate gauge or use wheel pairs with sliding wheels that meet the reliability requirements of the rolling stock and ensure driving safety. Ukrainian University offers a model that aims to reduce the time of transition of cars from one gauge to another and meets the requirements of reliability to rolling stock, which ensures traffic safety. The development is used in carts with a load from the wheelset on rails of 23.5 tf. A pair of wheels, equipped with TBU 150x250x160 cassette type bearings, wheels made of steel "T", is installed in the axle box of the side frame with an adapter. Distinctive features of the created wheelset with sliding wheels are the absence of large stresses arising in the gear coupling when the car enters curved sections of the track and when the wheels interact with unevenness of the track, as well as the high reliability of the control units for shifting the wheels.
