Purpose of the development: Ukrainian University has developed a method for the simultaneous determination of 6 ligadic forms of hemoglobin (nitrosyl hemoglobin, RHb, HbO2, HbCO, SHb, MetHb) in one sample of peripheral blood, which will allow for the rapid diagnosis of various critical conditions (CO poisoning, nitrates and nitrites, other exogenous compounds) . The developer proposes the creation of an instrument based on this method.

The essence of the development lies in the use of new approaches to the quantitative assessment of ligand forms of blood hemoglobin and the creation on its basis of new information technologies, new spectral tools for the quantitative assessment of the content of hemoglobin ligand forms in the blood. On the basis of a statistical set of data from the absorption spectra of deoxyhemoglobin and its complete transition to the nitrosyl form, a composite absorption spectrum was obtained for nitrosyl hemoglobin in the 450-750 nm wavelength range. The millimolar extinction coefficients and nitrosyl hemoglobin in the specified wavelength range are calculated. The results of the development may be a prerequisite for creating an automatic device for the simultaneous determination of 6 ligand forms of hemoglobin in one blood sample.
