The development stage readiness: Tested experimental exploitation order

Technical aids for providing the objects location and divers orientation under water at limited visibility or in full darkness are of greatimportance in practice of divers' works. The hydroacoustic system of underwater orientation for divers is intended for detemining of underwater objects and for diver orientation under water and includes a programmed beacon-pinger and a portable divers direction finder. The system operation frequency of 32.768 kHz corresponds to the standard operation frequency of diver stations of underwater audio communicatiun and this makes it possible to use the direction-finder both to contact the beacon and the station of underwater audio communication, which functions under the beacon operation conditions. Technical manuals and designers documents have been developed, experimental pototype of hydroautomatic system of diver underwater orientation has been manufactured. Full-scale tests of the system prototype have been perfomed in water areas of the Sevastopol and Balaklava bays, where a diver could reliably contact a beacon, using a direction finder both in day-time and at night. The acoustic power of the beacon allows one to determine its location, using the direction finder at a distance of 2000 m.
