NON-CONTACT OPTICAL THREE-DIMENSIONAL PROFILE METER
Purpose of the development:
The profilometer is designed to visualize the surface topography with a nanometer resolution and then calculate the surface roughness parameters in accordance with the international standard ISO 25178: Geometric Product Specifications (GPS) - Surface texture: Areal.
Recommended application field:
Instrument making, microelectronics, mechanical engineering and aircraft building.
Technical characteristic:
- scanning field (X, Y): 1500x1800 microns;
- maximum measured height of the relief (Z): 80 microns;
- vertical resolution (Z): 5 nm;
- scan time: 0.1-2 minutes;
- camera resolution: 1.3 Mp;
- the software is compatible with a PC class computer and works in the operating system Windows XP, 7
- the device allows you to build two-and three-dimensional images of the surface, to quantify the characteristics of the surface, to observe interference patterns in white and in monochromatic light.

The profilometer can be used in production to control the quality of the surface and the critical dimensions of finished products, to control and optimize the production process of optical components, fiber optic connections, MEMS devices, artificial joints, microelectronics, parts of machine and aircraft industry.
A prototype was made, a scanning technique and software were developed, and a series of studies were conducted in various fields of science to confirm the capabilities of the instrument.
