NONPOLARIZED METALLOXIDE ELECTRODE FOR COMPARISON
Purpose of the development:
The electrode is intended for use in electrochemical measurement systems of electrode potentials in underground structures and thermal utility water systems to provide protection against corrosion, effective monitoring and stability of operation of facilities.
Recommended application field:
The electrode may be included in the system of electrochemical measurements at the enterprises of gas and oil industry and utilities.
Technical characteristic:
In the pH range 3–10, the potential fluctuations are 0.01–0.05 V in solutions of acids, alkalis, salts (sulfates, chlorides) and their mixtures.
Advantages over analogues:
The advantage of the metal oxide electrode in comparison with the closest analogue and other known electrodes is the increase in the service life, the stability of the electrode potential due to its return to the OH anions. In addition, the advantages of the electrode include an increase in the processability of the method for producing a potential-forming metal oxide electrode due to the elimination of energy-intensive processes. The proposed metal oxide electrode is universal, since it can be used in a wide range of solutions, which significantly expands the areas of its application.

Description of the development:
() The metal oxide reference electrode non-polarized includes a metal electrode, on the surface of which a porous oxide coating is formed by electrochemical oxidation. In addition, niobium is used as the base metal electrode, and the electrolyte solution with a fixed pH value, depending on the operating conditions of the electrode, contains Na2SO4, NaCl, NaOH.
