BIOCIDES FOR PROTECTION OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS AND MATERIALS AGAINST BIOACTIONS


Purpose of the development: The development is designed to protect petroleum products, cutting fluids, materials and equipment of circulating water supply and cooling systems of oil refineries from bioengineering.

Recommended application field: Oil refining industry, automobile and mechanical engineering, chemical industry.

Advantages over analogues: - increase the life of the equipment companies - improvement of technological, operational, physico-chemical and sanitary-hygienic properties, coolant, paints and primers; - reduction of emulsol costs; - creation of favorable sanitary and hygienic working conditions and reduction of environmental pollution.

Description of the development:

Oil products and other materials with a high percentage of hydrocarbons can change their basic operational properties due to biological effects. In view of this, a highly efficient biocide based on S- (2-hydroxyethyl) entantiosulfonate has been proposed for the protection of petroleum products, emulsions, emulsols, paints and primers, coolants, mineral oils, equipment for circulation systems of water supply and cooling of oil refineries, materials and equipment at plants manufacturers from bio-effects. For the first time, based on studies of the antimicrobial action of S- (2-hydroxyethyl) entantiosulfonate, its high efficacy as a biocide for combating the main microorganisms of oil refineries has been established. It was established that with a total amount of microorganisms of 240 mln cells in 1 ml of water after treatment with S- (2-hydroxyethyl) ethantiosulfonate with a concentration of 0.1 mg / l, the number of microorganisms decreased to 0.002 mln cells in 1 ml. S- (2-hydroxyethyl) ethanethiosulfonate at a concentration of 0.1 mg / l reduces the biological growth parameters by 52-80 times (the residual biofouling is 1.25-1.9%), corrosion by 7-21 times (the residual corrosion is 4.7-14%) and salt deposits 3.4-4 times (residual salt deposits is 24-29%).
