LOW MOLECULAR COMPOUNDS WITH ANTI TUBERCULOSIS ACTIVITY
Purpose of the development:
As a basis for the creation of anti-TB drugs.
Recommended application field:
Pharmacy.
Technical characteristic:
Chemical names: 3-isopropoxybenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (1) and N- [(1E) - (1-methyl-1Hpyrol-2-yl) methylene] isonicotine hydrazide (2) inhibit the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis under aerobic conditions with MEC = 0.79 ?M (compound 1) and 0.39 ?M (compound 2); non-cytotoxic substances on the human hepatic HepG2 cell line; penetrate through the monolayer of Caco-2 cells; it is an in vitro model of the mucous membrane of the small intestine in humans to predict drug absorption; The level of binding to plasma proteins is 86.8 and 42.1% for compounds 1 and 2, respectively.
Advantages over analogues:
The developed compounds act on Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains that are resistant to known commercial anti-tuberculosis drugs, in particular isoniazid, rifampicin and ofloxacin.
The development stage readiness:
tested in laboratory condition
