POLYMERIC MATERIAL "ACRYLAN-LPI" FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF HIGHLY PERMEABLE CORRECTIVE SOFT CONTACT LENS
Purpose of the development:
The developed material is intended for the production of soft contact lenses for vision correction (with myopia and aphakia, in the presence of astigmatism).
Recommended application field:
Ophthalmology.
Advantages over analogues:
- high stability of optical and geometrical characteristics;
- 2-3 times lower cost compared to peers;
- elasticity and permeability to tears, increased oxygen permeability of soft contact lenses made of the material "Acrylan-LPI";
- good tolerance of such lenses to the eyes, reducing photophobia.

Description of the development:
() The material in the dry state is characterized by high hardness, well suited to the operations of turning, grinding and polishing. In the hydrated state, the hydrogel material is elastic, its swelling coefficient is 1.21-1.25, the water content is 49-55% by weight, the breakdown strength is 0.3 MPa, the oxygen permeability is (0.9-1.2) * 10 in -10 steps m2 / s.
Hydrogel soft contact lenses made of "Acrylan-LPI" have a lifetime of up to two years and can be used without removing them for 18-72 hours; impervious to ultraviolet rays.
