PLASMACHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY OF POLYMERIC SULFUR
Purpose of the development:
Improving the performance characteristics of vehicle tires; reduction of vehicle accidents and environmental pollution.
Recommended application field:
Chemical industry; automotive and aviation industries; radiation technologies.
Advantages over analogues:
- flexibility of the technological process and the possibility of obtaining a product with desired properties;
- lower cost of polymeric sulfur in comparison with analogues.

Description of the development:
() Polymeric sulfur is obtained as a result of controlled cooling of decomposition products of hydrogen sulfide or by treating sulfur vapors in a microwave plasma.
Polymer sulfur is used as a vulcanizer for the production of high-quality automotive and aircraft tires, which are characterized by increased elasticity and the ability to better perceive dynamic loads, as well as high abrasion resistance.
Polymer sulfur is able to effectively absorb ionizing radiation, so it is advisable to use it to obtain materials with radiation-protective properties.
