Purpose of the development: It is intended to produce materials for electrical contacts of vacuum interrupters (WEC).

Advantages over analogues: The cost of the contacts, the data obtained by approximately 25% below the cost of contacts, which are produced by powder metallurgy.

Safe shutdown vacuum switches high currents achieved not only embodiment of the contact system vacuum interrupters, but also depends on the purity of the materials from which the working layer made contact. Manufacturing technology contacts VDK powder metallurgy does not allow to fully eliminate impurities from the raw materials, which affects the breaking capacity of the cameras. Additionally, because of the process complexity preform contacts expensive (approximately $ 30 per 1 kg.), Which in turn increases costs as the interrupter, and the whole circuit. Preparations are made by way of a high-speed electron beam evaporation - condensation of the working layer (composition Cr-Cu) on a substrate of copper and electrical steel. After studies of experimental samples in the WEC making contact takes place on the plant PU-189. The evaporation of chromium and copper ingots pre-melted in a vacuum on a substrate of copper or steel is also done in a vacuum at a pressure of about 1.3 Pa h10/-2, which ensures high purity of the working layer of the contact. Depending on the size and the thickness of contact layer, which can be from 3 to 5 mm in one process cycle for installing PU-189 for 2-3 hours can be obtained from several tens to hundreds of contacts. At the same apparatus mastered industrial production of new composite materials for exposed electrical contacts, which can completely replace the contacts of silver.
