PROTECTION OF SURFACE WATER BODIES FROM POLLUTION BY BIOGENIC ELEMENTS AND IONS OF HEAVY METALS
Purpose of the development:
For purification of natural and waste waters of various origins from pollution by biogenic elements and heavy metal ions.
Recommended application field:
Enterprises engaged in the process of preparing high-quality drinking water and wastewater treatment. Water treatment plants and mine and wastewater treatment plants.
Advantages over analogues:
New methods of sample preparation and analysis of heavy metal ions in water based on polarography have been created, which provide accuracy by 2-6 orders of magnitude higher than currently known methods.

Technical and economic effect:
The use of the developed technologies and equipment can significantly reduce the cost and improve the quality of wastewater treatment and water treatment:
- costs of analyzing natural waters for the content of heavy metals are reduced by 70-90%;
- 80-95% decrease in the volume of discharge of harmful substances into the environment;
- the total costs of wastewater treatment and water treatment are reduced by 60-80% when introducing the developed waste disposal processes;
- at powerful water treatment plants when introducing waste disposal processes through the sale of secondary products, they can become self-sustaining.
Description of the development:
() Techniques have been developed for determining trace concentrations of heavy metal ions in water. New processes for the separation and removal of heavy metal ions, chromates and other anions from acidic and alkaline solutions with the production of metals and chemical reagents suitable for reuse have been studied and developed. Waste-free processes for the removal of nutrients from natural and waste waters using ion exchange, sorption and biosorption have been created. New highly efficient processes for extracting nitrogen compounds from aqueous media have been developed, which allow the preparation of drinking water from natural sources polluted with ammonium or nitrates. Promising and effective technologies for purification of waters of different origin from ammonium compounds, nitrates, phosphates and heavy metal ions have been created, which are distinguished by the complete recycling of waste produced in technological processes. Designed electrolyzers (two-and three-chamber), which allow you to process the eluate containing chlorides of sodium, calcium or magnesium to produce alkali and solutions of hypochlorite and sodium chlorite, suitable for water disinfection and disinfection. Technological processes for processing regeneration solutions into nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers have been developed. Principles of water treatment and purification in resource-saving technologies are proposed. All technologies are adapted to the purification of natural and waste waters of various origins.
