SMALL MILLING MACHINE PYRAMIDAL DESIGN WITH PARALLEL KINEMATICS


Purpose of the development: The machine is designed for milling of parts of complex configuration.

Recommended application field: The machine should be used for education and training of specialists in higher education institutions, technical schools, colleges.

Advantages over analogues: The frame in the shape of a pyramid is distinguished by increased rigidity, low metal consumption and allows free access to the working area from either side.

Description of the development:

The machine has three linear coordinates (X, Y and Z). The machine is built on the basis of universal linear displacement modules connecting the lower and upper bases and forming a three-sided pyramid. The movement of the working body is a mechanism of parallel structure "triglide", consisting of six rods with hinges that connect the platform and linear modules. The use of such a mechanism increases the speed of movement of the working body and allows you to get high rigidity with low metal consumption of the structure. To control the machine developed a special mathematical apparatus that takes into account all the geometric features of the design. The universal controller of the control system interconnects the computer and the machine, realizing the conversion of the computer’s digital pulses into motor control signals.
