THERMAL IMAGING SYSTEMS OF OBSERVATION OF AIRCRAFT-FREE AIRCRAFT AND SPACE AIRCRAFT


Purpose of the development: For the manufacture of optical electronic surveillance systems of the infrared range of the spectrum.

Recommended application field: Optoelectronic instrument making.

Advantages over analogues: Mathematical models for calculating spatial separation at arbitrary observation angles and rotation of a moving matrix radiation detector exceed the level of world analogues. The proposed solutions will enhance the competitiveness of domestic optical-electronic equipment.

The development stage readiness: Ready for application

Technical and economic effect: The introduction of the proposed methods in the development of aerospace equipment will improve the efficiency of its operation, namely, to increase the spatial resolution of thermal imaging systems by up to 20%.

Description of the development:

The newest model of information transformations has been developed for remote observations from the aircraft or spacecraft using a thermal imaging optical-electronic observation system. This model takes into account the characteristics of the backgrounds, targets, optical system and matrix radiation detector, which allows us to explore ways to improve the technical characteristics of the main units of the system. The computational algorithms are based on spatial frequency filtering in the signal paths and make it possible to carry out the tasks of analyzing and synthesizing systems, with or without visual perception. The model is compatible with current NATO standards. New methods for calculating the spatial and energy resolution of modern and future thermal imaging optical-electronic observation systems have been created. Methods have been developed for improving the spatial resolution of on-board thermal imagers by registering sub-pixel-shifted images. Resolution for typical objects of observation can be improved by 20-30%. Substantiated engineering solutions to increase the energy sensitivity of space and aviation thermal imaging surveillance systems.
