GAS DISCHARGE ELECTRON GUN FOR PULSE APPLICATION OF MULTICOMPONENT AND CHEMICAL COMPLEX COATINGS


Purpose of the development: For the application of high quality heat resistant coatings.

Recommended application field: Mechanical engineering, instrument making.

Advantages over analogues: The results obtained correspond to the world level, and the use of pulsed electron guns of a high-voltage glow discharge for applying heat-shielding coatings in a reactive gaseous medium has no analogues in world practice.

The development stage readiness: Pre-production model is made

Technical and economic effect: The use of the developed devices can significantly reduce the cost and improve the quality of products due to: - increase in stoichiometry of heat-shielding coatings by 25-30% and, accordingly, their quality; - reducing the cost of pulsed electron-beam equipment by 20-25%.

Description of the development:

A new powerful triode-type gas-discharge gun and a system for controlling its parameters in a pulsed mode of operation using a low-voltage auxiliary discharge have been developed. As a result of theoretical analysis and modeling of physical processes in a high-voltage gas discharge with a cold cathode, the possibility of obtaining 2 pulsed electron beams with a total power of tens of kilowatts at a specific power of 100,000-1000000 W / cm2 is shown. Physical and mathematical models have been developed and complex modeling of the self-consistent electron-ion optics of the triode electrode system of a high-voltage glow discharge and the electromagnetic transport system of a pulsed electron beam through an equipotential channel from a low vacuum discharge gap to a high-vacuum processing chamber has been carried out. The possibility of forming a pulsed electron beam with a transverse size of several millimeters and carrying it from the discharge gap into the technological volume with a pressure differential of 2-3 orders is shown. According to the results of the research, a design of a 30 kW gas discharge electron gun with a capacity of 30 kW was developed. A system of automatic control of the discharge current of a gas-discharge gun and a system of amplitude-frequency modulation of the electron beam have also been developed. The time of regulation of the discharge current by changing the gas pressure in the discharge gap does not exceed a few seconds, the modulation frequency of the beam is provided in the range of tens to hundreds of Hz.
