TRANSFER OF INNOVATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY MELTING FLUX FOR WELDING LOW-CARBON AND LOW ALLOY STEELS


Purpose of the development: Flux for arc welding low carbon and low alloy steels, including high strength.

Recommended application field: Various engineering.

Technical characteristic: Basicity of the flux according to: - International Institute of Welding formula is 1,0-1, 1; - Activity oxygen ion (main metallurgical characteristics of fluxes) - 0.085 - 0.09; - Oxygen potential - - 340 ...- 345 kJ / mol. When applying a profile wire AP-AN8f phosphorus and sulfur contents in the range 0.02%.

Advantages over analogues: Flux ensures separation of the slag crust from the surface of the weld metal, including welding in narrow development. Provides guaranteed penetration and excellent weld metal formation, increased stability of the arc discharge and the existence of no release of environmentally harmful compounds and manganese fluoride (in the absence of the latter in the cored wire). Currently in Ukraine and in the world there is no such fluxes with similar weldability, which do not contain in its composition fluorine compounds.

Flux is recommended for use in combination with AP-shaped wire AN8f. The use of other solid and flux-cored wires for welding. When applying a profile wire AP-AN8f flux provides the following mechanical properties of the weld metal: the strength of 740 ... 770 MPa, elongation at least 20%, and toughness at - 40 degrees C for at least 36 J / sq cm. Have experience of flux for welding cylindrical parts. The level of separation of the slag crust is at its maximum point.
