Purpose of the development: The technology is intended for early laboratory diagnostics of oncohematological diseases.

Recommended application field: Creation of the first in our country of the State Specialized Consultative-Diagnostic Center for Oncohematological Diseases, which will serve patients from all regions of Ukraine.

Advantages over analogues: As a result of the use of the proposed innovative technology whose analogues in the world do not exist, the full implementation of the project will be carried out annually for up to 10 thousand diagnostic studies with the simultaneous identification of LSD in patients of Ukraine for oncohematological pathology.

Leukemic stem cells (LSCs) initiate the onset of hemoblastosis and should become targets for new therapies. Of the 400 antigens of leukocytes, the characteristic markers for LSCs have been selected and the technology of their identification has been developed in the course of an early diagnosis of leukemia in about 4000 patients in Ukraine according to the WHO classification. This is of fundamental importance for the purpose of targeted therapy, the prognosis of the risk of recurrence and the detection of minimal residual illness. Precise diagnostic tests of blood and bone marrow cells will be carried out in 1750-2000 patients annually using developed immunocytochemical methods and a wide panel of monoclonal antibodies to linear-specific and differentiating antigens of surface membranes. For the analysis of the phenotype of leukemic cells, it is also envisaged that the flow cytometry method should be used. This will increase the efficiency of individualized therapy of patients with the use of modern drugs, aimed exclusively at LSK.
