LOW-TEMPERATURE TECHNOLOGY OF DECOMPOSITION OF PERSISTENT ORGANIC POLLUTANTS
Purpose of the development:
Neutralization of halogenaromatic persistent organic pollutants (POPs) at low temperatures.
Recommended application field:
At the enterprises of chemical and other industries.
Technical characteristic:
The technological process consists in the action on organochlorine compounds with sodium methoxide in the presence of 0.003-0.005 mol% of the catalyst in a solvent at a temperature of 80 ° C. The technology uses conventional standard equipment.
Advantages over analogues:
The technology has no world analogues. It allows the disposal of POPs (hexachlorobenzene, dioxins, polychlorobiphenyls, DDT, DDE) at low temperatures (not higher than 80 ° C). In relation to high-temperature processes (1100-1200 ° C), the method allows to save energy resources, not to use technological absorbers of volatile products, which greatly simplifies the process, as well as to switch to direct absorption and neutralization of harmful substances (for example dioxins).
