TRANSFER OF INNOVATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

PROJECT OF GROWING PEARLS

Purpose of the development: Ukrainian University is developing a project to develop its own original technology of growing freshwater pearls, which has no analogues in Ukraine.

Recommended application field: Enterprises that grow pearls, process them and produce jewelry.

Advantages over analogues: Until now, no one has fully engaged in the idea of the possible production of pearls in the conditions of Ukraine. Unlike the Chinese, the technology developed by our scientists does not provide for the forced opening of the oyster shell. In addition, Ukrainian oysters are used in this technology - toothless and perlovo, which are much cheaper than Chinese ones.

The development stage readiness: Finishing off is required

Description of the development:
()
At the moment, the first stage of a unique experiment on the cultivation of pearls by domestic scientists, which was very successful, has been completed. The process of introducing grains of sand and adaptation was carried out on domestic mollusks. None of the oysters died. In the pearl experiment involved about 30 toothless teeth and pearls from the Dnieper-Bug estuary. They were placed in the biofilter installation with a closed cycle of water supply. After 4-5 months, the shells of the shells were opened, there were about two hundred pearls in them, one and a half to two millimeters in diameter, white and purple-violet. In the future, scientists plan to continue the experiment, because it matters what to lay, what grain of sand, what it will consist of and where to lay it. From this will depend on the color and shape of the pearl. In case of successful completion of the experiment, scientists plan to patent the Ukrainian technology and find an investor for its implementation.
