One of the alternative methods of separation of gas mixtures, which in recent years begun to develop rapidly, there is a membrane. This is especially true in cases where the amount of shared gas mixture does not exceed a few hundred cubic meters per hour. Membrane technologies allow to obtain nitrogen purity of 99.9% with an average value of air nitrogen at 50% lower compared with the conventional cryogenic process. Air separation is the most important application of the membrane gas separation. In our time, the membrane air separation plants are in commercial use for such purposes: - Receiving ambient air enriched with nitrogen concentration of 90-98%, which is used for protective gas explosion and fire on hazardous occupations; extinguishing fires in mines, aviation, transport, industrial plants, etc .; longer lasting storage of fruit and other perishable plant products in regulated gas environment; Long-Lasting grain storage in a nitrogen environment; storage and pneumatic transport of materials with Anti-oxidation; under nitrogen atmosphere packaging juice, food oils, syrups and other food products; firing and tempering of metals, cementing, tsianizatsiya, sintering powders; special weld metal protective environment; treatment of various diseases "mountain air" - dyshanie oxygen depleted air; Pneumatic filling with nitrogen (vehicles, aviation).
