3TH GENERAL SOLAR ELEMENTS BASED ON N-CDS / P-SNS HETEROJOINTS
Purpose of the development:
Solar cells based on the CdS / SnS heterojunction are functional devices for converting solar energy into electrical energy.
Recommended application field:
Renewable energy (electric power generators).
Advantages over analogues:
One of the advantages of the development is to minimize the content of heavy cadmium metal due to the use of tin sulfide as an absorbing material. SnS is a cheap non-toxic material, reduces the cost of creating the device and simplifies disposal after the end of its life.
On the basis of film solar cells with n-CdS / pSnS, cheap and ecological systems can be developed for generating electricity in an area with a large number of sunny days.

Description of the development:
() The developed devices are 3rd-generation thin-film solar cells created on the basis of traditional and new semiconductor functional materials. Solar cells work by using heterostructures of the superstrate type (ITO / n-CdS / p-SnS / Sn) and substrate (Mo / p-SnS / n-CdS / ZnO / ZnO: Al).
