Purpose of the development: Armored two-layer composite panel refers to the means of individual and collective protection against bullets of various small arms.

Recommended application field: Defense industry. The composite panels obtained by the developed technology can be used for mass protection of personnel in combat conditions.

Advantages over analogues: Technical result: due to the successful placement of the composite in a closed metal shell of rectangular pipes of a two-layer panel, a decrease in the strain is achieved, which helps to increase the bullet resistance of the protective agent under the action of balls with high penetrating ability. In addition, high survivability, ease of manufacture and cost reduction of up to 10% are provided. The armor panel provides protection against bullets of an AK assault rifle and SVD rifle at a distance of up to 5 m, the depth of unhindered penetration of a bullet is up to 7 mm, while for a prototype of a similar thickness it reaches 20 mm.

The essence of the development of an armored two-layer panel is that it has a welded closed two-layer structure, the design of which is made of rectangular pipes filled with a monolithic composite mixture. The first layer is welded with the second layer, and they are rotated 90 ° relative to each other, which eliminates the possible coaxial rupture due to the bullet entering the weld. The layers are obtained by welding steel shells from square pipes, followed by filling with composite.
