RADIO-CONVERTER MODULE OF A QUASIMONO-PULSE SYSTEM OF A HIGH-PRECISION AUTOMATIC SUPPORT OF LOW-ORBIT SATELLITES OF REMOTE SENSING OF THE EARTH

Purpose of the development: Ukrainian University has developed a new high-precision quasi-monopulse automatic tracking system, which is part of earth stations for extracting information from low-Earth orbit remote sensing satellites.

Recommended application field: Development is in demand on the world market of high-precision automatic tracking systems for low-orbit artificial Earth satellites and obtaining information from them, which is used in the fields of intelligence, defense and security, cartography, emergency monitoring, agriculture, ecology, shipping, forestry, etc.

Technical characteristic: The two-channel system provides the possibility of simultaneous operation on orthogonal circular (right and left) polarizations with broadband information signals (100-500 MHz), and not only with narrow-band beacon signals. The developed system has high tracking accuracy in azimuth and elevation (better than 0.02 ° when used in large antennas of earth stations).

Advantages over analogues: The novelty of the proposed quasimonopulse system is the use of two orthogonal higher types of H21 waves in a circular waveguide to form tracking signals (in azimuth and elevation) and H11 waves with orthogonal circular polarizations for transmitting information signals. Due to the simultaneous use of these orthogonal waves, a new two-channel system of high-precision automatic tracking of low-orbit satellites is obtained, which significantly exceeds the existing three-channel monopulse tracking systems in terms of functionality and simplicity of design.

The development stage readiness: Pre-production model is made

Description of the development:
()
A two-channel system with a multimode axisymmetric corrugated horn with a HE11 hybrid wave and orthogonal higher types of HE21 waves provides the possibility of excellent work on any polarization (unlike the classical three-channel monopulse system, where the sum-difference processing of signals of four or more closely spaced emitters is carried out). The developed system has a high isolation (up to 40 dB) between information and tracking channels due to the use of various types of waves (H11 for the information channel and two orthogonal types of waves H21 for the tracking channel). A wide working frequency band of the tracking channel has been achieved through the use of two orthogonal types of H21 waves with the same dispersion characteristics.
