Purpose of the development: - fuel replacement based on urotropine; - lighting a fire under adverse conditions (high humidity, gusts of wind); - individual heating in a relatively open area - a substitute for solid fuel; - drying of wet clothes, linen; - heating or cooking, boiling water; - heating of small rooms.

Recommended application field: Gel fuel finds various functional applications in the field.

Advantages over analogues: - has no analogues in Ukraine; - burns in the wet state, on wet surfaces, during precipitation, with gusts of wind; - suitable for extreme conditions; - it is easily set on fire; - the ability to burn on inclined and vertical surfaces; - high calorific value (approximately 22.8 000 kJ / kg); - light weight; - non toxic; - without smell; - quickly boils water - 200 ml in 10 minutes. (dry alcohol - in 18 minutes); - long burning time - 100 g of fuel burns up to 60 minutes; - inexpensive; - environmentally friendly (bioethanol); - made from natural ingredients; - high purity - very low ash content, about 1% (for dry alcohol - 12%); - made from a renewable energy source; - low luminosity; - easy storage; - safe for packaging with food; - can be used as a hand sanitizer; - safe for transportation by all means of transport.

In the armies of most NATO and partner countries, individual rations (IRPs) are supplemented with urotropin tablets, which are used to heat food from the RPI in the field. Today, in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in addition to means of flameless heating, dry fuel based on urotropin is also sometimes used. Despite the ease of use, this type of fuel is characterized by significant disadvantages, such as the sensitivity of the dry fuel flame to wind and moisture, the toxicity of the main component of dry fuel and its combustion products, and the inability to control the power of the flame. Unlike dry fuel, gel fuel is based on environmentally friendly components, convenient and safe to use. Such fuel is highly flammable and burns in humid weather, is not blown out by gusts of wind, and is characterized by high calorific value. It can be packaged in metal or plastic containers of various sizes.
