DEVICE FOR DESTRUCTION OF EXPLOSIVE HAZARDS IN DIFFICULT ACCESSIBLE PLACES


Purpose of the development: The device is intended for the destruction of suspicious explosive objects and the disposal of explosive devices.

Recommended application field: Explosive works carried out by pyrotechnics specialists of the State Emergency Situations Service in carrying out the tasks assigned to them (extinguishing local fires, destroying rubble, etc.), explosive technical units, special units during anti-terrorist operations or other special operations.

Advantages over analogues: - destruction of suspicious objects in hard-to-reach places, including those that are in limbo; - destructive effect in the absence of fragmentation effect; - destruction of an explosive object not locally, but along the entire plane of the surface on which the device acts; - the absence of side effects on environmental objects; - simplicity of design and ease of preparation for use; - the use of inexpensive consumables for the manufacture of the device; - variation of their own geometric parameters and power depending on the conditions of use and the size of the suspicious item.

Description of the development:

The device is a tubular body made of an elastic low-strength material, filled with a working fluid (water, antifreeze, brine, etc.). An elongated explosive charge is placed inside the housing along its central axis, in particular, a detonating cord is used. The device in the assembled state is placed directly at the explosive object so that the side of the shell with thinning was facing the explosive object. After that, an electric detonator and other necessary means of initiating an explosion are connected to the detonating cord. Depending on the size of the suspicious object and the conditions of its location, the device can be placed in relation to it in different positions (around, along, around the perimeter, zigzag, etc.) both in horizontal and vertical plane (for example, in case of neutralization of suspicious objects that have significant vertical dimensions or are located in vertical cavities, suspended on a wall, tree, etc.). During the explosion of the detonating cord, the force of the blast wave acts on the liquid that is in the shell. The liquid, in turn, tears apart the walls of the shell, starting from the point of thinning directed towards the suspicious object or explosive device, and rushes out. The created powerful fluid flow directed at a suspicious object or explosive device destroys it without activating the main charge, while minimally affecting environmental objects.
