Purpose of the development: The system is designed to improve the search by expanding and refining the set of keywords.

Recommended application field: News agencies, analytical centers that have their own document databases and analyze them.

Technical characteristic: Technical requirements: Windows XP or later.

Advantages over analogues: Compared to other systems, SemSearch focuses not on the frequencies of stable connections observed in user searches, but on additional data received from the linguistic base UkrWordNet developed by the authors. This is especially useful if the database on which the search is performed, is located in a closed DB, and the number of users is insufficient for analysis of the frequency of sharing keywords to give a result.

For a given short set of keywords, the system compiles an expanded list of keywords, and offers the user how to prompt to expand and refine the search query. The system is implemented as an add-on over regular search engines, such as Google, but it is possible to implement it for other systems, including search in the DB.
