HIGH FERROCYANIDE SORBENTS ON CLAY MATRICES FOR RADIONUCLIDE SORPTION AND CREATING OF BARRIERS RADIOECOLOGICAL

Purpose of the development: Designed for decontamination of radioactive effluents rare sorption methods.

Recommended application field: Decontamination of rare radioactive waste sorption methods, the sorption of radionuclides cesium and strontium, the creation of radio-ecological barriers to prevent migration of radionuclides to clean aquifers in areas of factors NPP and in the exclusion zone of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (NPP existing industrial sites, burial of radioactive waste, radioactive reservoirs in the Chernobyl zone) .

Advantages over analogues: The main advantage of the synthesized materials have their cheapness, because instead of synthetic cellulose or silica matrix is proposed to use the widespread natural carbonate containing clay dumps, and instead of expensive reagents - environmentally harmful waste. Depending on the composition of the sorption material and solution concentration of radionuclides distribution coefficients for cesium constitute 5x10 [3] -10 [6], which indicates the high efficiency of the developed sorbents compared with foreign counterparts.

Description of the development:
()
A unique feature of the developed materials are of conservation of specific properties of bentonite clays to swell in water, which is a prerequisite for their use as a water shut-off barrier materials. Such properties are known for ferotsianidnyh sorbents are absent. The synthesized materials were combined sorption properties of natural and synthetic bentonite ferotsianidov known as effective sorbents for sorption of cesium and strontium radionuclides. Absorbent materials can be manufactured in the form of lubricating pastes, powders or granules, which makes it possible to use them not only to create radioecological barriers, but in rare decontamination technologies radioactive waste in static conditions and in ion exchange filters.
