ECOLOGICAL NANOCATALYSTS


Purpose of the development: Imporovement of fuel combustion effeciency; cleaning of the fuel system of internal combustion engines (ICE) and catalyst reduction.

Ecological nanocatalysts are fuel additives containing modified ceric and zirconium oxide nanoparticles. To meet constatly growing ecological requirements to a car (Euro4 and Euro-5) it is necessary to significantly reduce content of nitrogen oxide and firm particles in exhaust gases. Thare are two basic ways to solve the problem of harmful emissions reduction. The first method is introduction of nanostructured ceric oxide particles on the organic base into motor fuel (Oxonica). The second method is creation of a new exhaust gas cleaning system-Selective Catalytic Reduction (DAF Trucks N.V., DaimlerChysler AG, OMV AG, BASF AG, Iveco S.p.A., Total SA, SKW Piesteritz GmbH, Renault Trucks, Volvo Trucks, Yara International ASA). A new original method to reduce harmful impurities emission in exhaust gases has been proposed. The effect is achieved due to use of urea derivatives soluble in motor fuels together with nanostructured ceric oxide particles. The technology named Urea and NanoCatalyst in Fuel does not demand any modification of ICE fuel equipment design or changes in refueling technology at petrol stations. On base of the technology, FaberOx motor fuel additive has been developed and is batch produced. It is dispersion of nanocapsulated ceric oxide in uear derivatives organic solution, which is intended for introduction into fuel of any type. The nearest analogue is the development of Oxonica (England) - fuel additives based on ceric oxide nanoparticles affecting only burning efficiency. A new commercial line of nanocleaners has been created on base of Urea and NanoCatalyst in Fuel technology for: - petrol engine injectors; - disel engine nozzles; - catalytic neutralizer. Useful effect: - the optimum injrction mode preset fuel atomization is recovered; - acceleration capability increase; - fuel consumption reduction; - CO, CH, NOx, emission reduction; - increase of the catalytic neutralizer service life.
