DRILLING RIG FOR UNDERWATER GEOLOGICAL SURVEY DRILLING

Purpose of the development: The drilling rig is intended for drilling of geological survey bore holes on the ocean floor and sampling of soil.

Advantages over analogues: Advantages: - Possibility of work at cosiderable depths (with an increaase in the depth driving power increases); - work of the drives in the constant inlet pressure made improves dynamic characteristics of the boring process; - mobility of the device, which consists in autonomous movement across the ocean floor in a "jumping mode": lift, sinking and installation at the assigned point; - possibility of creation of large power for the drive of the operating mechanisms with small power of the scavenge pump; - the installation can ensure a completely autonomous mode (using storage batteries) or connection to the base ship using a cable or cable-rope.

The development stage readiness: The working documentation is developed

Description of the development:
()
Hydrostatic pressure is used to enable the drilling rig to work on the ocean floor and also to provide its lift and descent, it is dermined by submersion depth, which gives a possibility to obtain infinitely large input power. The principle of the drilling rig operation consists in filling the reservoir to the level ensuring its sinking. The installation descends to the sea bed and clears. subsequently the water continues to enter the reservoir to the level ensuring the necessary weight of the device with boring. When lifted to a given height the pump disconnects, and the valves open. Water enters the reservoir through the nozzles, thus creating reacting force of the jet, necessary for displacing the installation in the horizontal direction. The water level in the reservoir gradually reaches the lowering threshold. The water level in the restallation relative to the horizon.
