COMPLEXFOR MINING FOR MINERALS IN THE SHELF ZONE OF THE WORLD OCEAN

Mining for iron-manganese concretions at the depths from 20 to 100 meters, dredging and fairway works.

Advantages over analogues:
Advantages:
- Low power consumption;
- simplicity of design;
- possibility of mining at considerable depths;
- low weight of the construction;
- possibility of realization of primary enrichment of the obtained concretions, which excludes lift of dirt and increases productivity of the system as a whole.
Furthermore, the proposed operating principle allows to create qualitatively new mechanisms and devices for mining for iron-manganese concretions, and also for lift of sunken objects.

Description of the development:
() The special feature of the mining complex is presence of a transmission gear. The operating principle consists in pump-aided pumping out water is from closed volumes, between the transportation and tractive bands, resulting in pressing the working branch of the transportation band with ladles against the tractive band the transmission gear. This leads to appearance between them of an extensive friction contact and the transportation band is displaced with the aid of a driving drum. Continuous-locked band with ladles of zero floatation is used as the transportation organ. Realization of high thrust with small overall sizes of the transmission gear, possibility of conducting mining works at considerable depths makes it fundamentally different from the analogs.
