SOIL THERMOELECTRIC GENERATOR


Recommended application field: Is a selfcontained, renewable, ecologically clean power source for weather stations, tsunami caution systems, radio beacons, ect.

Technical characteristic: Technical characteristics: - Output voltage, not less 1,5 V; - Output power, not less 1,2 mW; - Overall dimensions: height 250mm; diameter 96 mm; - Weight, not over 2 kg. Parameters of thermoelectric generator at temperature difference between heat-exchangeelements ~8K. In necessary, is possible to manufacture generators with different parameters that will take into account climatic conditions of specific application place of this power supply source.

Advantages over analogues: Advantages: - Soil thermogenerators are a new kind of scientific and technical products; - They offer the advantages of a good radio of mass-dimensional and power characteristics, a long (up to 25 years) service life, ecological purity, maximum proximity to consumer, structural and tachnological adaptability, etc; - In operation, the thermoelectric generator is free from factors disclosing its location, which makes it particularly attractive as power supply source for guard signaling systems and other elements of special-purpose electronic devices.

The development stage readiness: Tested experimental exploitation order

Description of the development:

Thermoelectric generator provides direct conversion of thermal energy of soil into electric power. It is capable of prolonged unattended operation which allows its efficient use in remote and hard-to-reach places. Thermoelectric generator is installed in active soil layer (the layer wherein solar energy is converted into other kinds of energy). Regarbless of thermal flux that may be directed both into and out of soil, heat will come to one of heat-exchange elements and throunh heating conduit delivered to the surface of thermopile, creating thereupon temperature difference providing the work of soil thermogenerator. Heat that passed through thermopile is removed along a similar heating conduit to opposite heat exchange element and is dissipated therewith to the environment. Case is made of bio- and humidity-resistant heat-insulating material. The surfaces of heat-exchange elements of soil TEG have anti-corrosion coating. To reduce thermal losses, the case of soil TEG is filled with heat insulating filler.
