TECHNOLOGY AND APPARATUS FOR PLASMA PROCESSING OF BIOMEDICAL WASTE


Purpose of the development: Waste Management. Low-waste and non-waste technology.

Recommended application field: In medical institutions, research laboratories, biomedical industries. Mobile version of the installation is designed to handle small medical institutions a certain area or city.

Technical characteristic: Features: - Power - 200 kW; - Performance-recyclable waste - 200 kg / h; - Oven temperature - 1800-2000 K.

Advantages over analogues: Possibility of processing a wide range of biomedical waste from hospitals, research laboratories, and biomedical industries; complete disinfection of recyclables; exception of education and conservation in the gas phase and toxic components of biological forms; possibility of obtaining mineral silicate materials with a low degree of leaching; a significant reduction in the volume and weight of recyclables; opportunity to organize itself in the field of waste, excluding stage transportation and storage; the possibility of creating a mobile unit.

Description of the development:

Plasma-developed equipment for decontamination and recycling of biomedical waste. The installation consists of the combustion chamber, afterburner, gas cleaning system and power supply systems. The main element of plasma systems for recycling is the arc plasma generator that creates a thermal plasma of any gas temperature above 5000 K. At this temperature completely decompose any complex organic and inorganic compounds to atoms and ions. The main distinguishing feature of plasma technology is a significant intensification of the process of destruction of waste. As a result, virtually eliminates the need for oxygen to decompose the waste. Increasing the temperature in the reaction zone to install 1800-2000 K can improve penetration of the ash residue from burning and completely eliminate the preservation or formation of toxic gas phase components and biological forms.
