Purpose of the development: The composition is intended to impregnate the surface of traditional building materials (bricks, concrete, screed, wood, marble, granite, etc.) in order to make them hydrophobic, removal of adhesion and accumulation of water-soluble isotopes in the materials.

Recommended application field: Construction.

At the Institute of Surface Chemistry. A.A.Chuyko NASU is designed to protect the composition of building materials based on previously created lubricating composite materials, "Silar" TU 88 USSR 228002-89. The composition is selected so that all components could penetrate into the pores of the material, completely "heal" them and make inaccessible to water molecules. Thus, one can avoid the consequences of the effect of freezing - razmerzaniya, which is the main factor in the destruction of building materials in our geographic area. The surface of the materials without protective treatment is moistened with water, its outer layers lose adhesion to the base and gradually crumble, revealing the following sections for further destruction. Processing of materials proposed composition excludes the action of moisture on the surface and deeper layers and thus enhances the surface. In addition, significantly reduced rates of adsorption of radionuclides entering the surface of the external environment (wind, rain, snow, etc.), excluded the accumulation of radioactive isotopes, which are dissolved in contact with the surface layers of soil and atmospheric water. The composition is chemically neutral, resistant to aggressive environments and temperatures from - 60 to + 2000C. Is made of environmentally friendly products, creates a non-inflammable film whose validity period of 10-15 years, resistant to ultraviolet radiation. The developed formulations can be used to: - Snap-together shelters for agriculture; - Large shelters antenna positions for all-weather landing system; - Waterproof vaults of noncombustible materials for the underground tunnels and other targets; - Elements of the mine roof supports. The composition is simple, smarter and more reliable in operation, is made up of the available components of domestic production. Produced in the form of paste, concentrate, the cost of 1 kg - $ 25 For the surface treatment used in diluted solutions of 5-15 times. Depending on the surface, its porosity, etc. flow solution is 150-250 g/m2. If necessary, may be processed twice. Application of the surface material is performed by brush, roller or spray.
