MODIFIED STRONG-ACID FIDER FIBAN K-1


Purpose of the development: Fine air purification from ammonia and other major impurties in "clean rooms" of enterprises of electronic and semiconductor industries, in water desalination and softening, concentration and analysis of cations, in particular, of Cs[+], Sr[+], Ra[2+] radio nuclides. The material is promising for use in gas-dust respirators and as catalyst in manufacture of valuable products of organic synthesis.

Technical characteristic: Features: Ionic form H+ - Static exchangecapacity for 0,5 n. NaCl, mg-equiv/g, minimum 2,5; - Humidity of air-dry ionite, mass %, maximum 27; - Length of staple fibers, mm 50-60; - Linear density of fibers, tex, maximum 2; - Thickness of non-woven material, mm 2,5-4; - Surface density, g/m[2] 200-350; - Wadth, cm 145±5.

Advantages over analogues: Correspondence to best world samples in exchange capacity; higher chemical resistance and lower cost than those of the best world analogues.

Description of the development:

Strong-acid fiber containing sulto-acid groups is produced in textile forms of staple fider and nonwoven needle-punched fabrics with different surface density and thicness. A pilot industrial unit for fider production with annual output of 3 tons. Modes of fiber processing into non-woven materials worked out jointly with NIINM (Research Institute of Non-Woven Materials) (Serpukhov, Russia). The material is produced and supplied abroad (to Germany and Austria) for fine air purification from ammonia and major impurities and for water treatment. In Belarus it is used for Cs[+] radionuclide concentration and its further analysis.
