The apparatus the plasma treatment of medical-biological wastes incorporates a burning and afterburning chambers, a gas cleaning system, and power supply systems. The primary element of plasma apparatuses for waste treatment is an electric-arc plasma generator that creates thermal plasma of any gases with the temperatureof over 5000K. Any complex organic and inorganic compounds are totally decomposed at this temperature to atoms and ions. The main specific feature of the plasma technology consists in substantial intensification of the waste destruction process. As a result, using oxygen to decompose the waste becomes actually unnecessary. A temperature increase in the reaction zone of the apparatus to 1800-2000K enables to enhance the fusion of ash residue and completely eliminate the possibility of preservation or generation in the gas phase of toxic components or biologocal forms.
