Purpose of the development: Purification of potable water and foodstuffs, drugs and pharmaceuticals. The basis catalysts deposition, the sorbined polymer-carbon filters.

Technical characteristic: Characteristics: - Adsorptive activity: by blue methylene, mg/g 300; by iodine, mg/g 1000; - Sorbing pores volume, cm[3]/g 0,7; - including micropores, cm[3]/g 0,40; - Specific surface area by BETmethod, not less than, m[2]/g 1000; - Mineral admixtures content, not more than, % 7,0; - with iron Fe3+, not more than % 0,05.

Advantages over analogues: Produced on standard equipment, no application of special additives is required. The production process is wasteless, ecologically safe. The raw material is upper type low-ash peat. By the qualitative characteristics (adsorptive activity, chemical cleanliness) it compares well with activated carbon based on hydrated cellulose fibers and tissues, but by cost it is 15-20 times cheaper.

The activated poweder-like coal is produced on the basis of modified peat by the steam-gas activation method by the two-stage scheme: - carbonization at 550-650°C; - activation by water vapor at 900-1000°C.
