Description of the development:
() Vinylidene chloride is a valuble monomer for preparation of polymers, which have an extremely high barrier resistance to the transmission of oxygen and water vapors. Copolymers produced from vinylidene chloride show excelent resistance to solvets and corrosive chemicals and have a high degree of abrasion resistance, toughness and dimensional stability. Viny lidene chloride is commonly produced by dehydrochlorination 1,1,2-trichloroethane using inogranic bases such as calcium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide, but this reaction produce lagre quantitics of the corresponding salts (CaCl2 or NaCl) and the warte water. Much more economically and ecologically attractive is a catalytic preparating vinylidene chloride. However the modem catalytic processes suffer from deactivation of the catalysts due to the formation of coke on their surface and chlorination of the carriers, such as SiO2 and AlO3.
