Abstract. The analytical reference was prepared based on the results of monitoring the implementation of priority thematic areas of scientific research and scientific and technical developments in Ukraine in 2024. The research was conducted at the Ukrainian Institute of Scientific and Technical Expertise and Information based on information received from the main managers of budget funds (in accordance with the requirements of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated April 30, 2024 № 476), and covers the analysis of the amount of financial support for scientific research and development at the expense of the general fund of the state budget, quantitative indicators of completed scientific (scientific and technical) works, created scientific (scientific and technical) products in seven priority areas of development of science and technology in terms of 70 priority thematic areas.
Based on the results of the study, the most financed and effective priority thematic directions were determined by areas of budget financing, types of R&D, main managers of budget funds.
The results obtained may be taken into account by state authorities when developing and adopting government decisions on defining and adjusting the list of priority thematic areas of scientific research and scientific and technical development.
